Reppin' Creativity

Patterns have the ability to transform a garment from spring to fall, day to night, male to female, young to old, and casual to formal.

When we think of patterns, images of leopard print, florals, and polka dots come pouring into our minds.

However, thanks to digital pattern producing programs such as Repper and others like it, we can be our own designers. Transforming traditional plaids and stripes into complex and intricate one of a kind patterns is now as easy ad cropping a photograph.

http://www.repperpatterns.com is easy to navigate, and offers a free demo to anyone interested in testing out their product. By simply uploading a picture, and choosing an area you would like to be repeated, Repper takes it from there and a beautifully unique pattern appears right before your eyes. I chose four different patterns to work with and here are some of my favorite creations:

...okay so I think I liked the stripe's effect a little too much ;)

Artists who have invested in Repper have created beautiful, personalized, unique products.
Member Joonas Paakko, featured on Repper's website, created iPhone 4 cases using Repper patterns that I know would be wildly popular if sold at the Apple store.

Interior Designer Sissy Gavrilaki, also featured in Repper's showcase, has created pillows, Christmas cards, and even decorative clothes pins for her Etsy Site.

Repper is an innovative and creative program that allows you to develop patterns for everything from bananas to one of a kind works of art, and of course, (more importantly [; ) fabric for your very own uniquely patterned fashions!

However, I must warn you.. Repper can be quite time consuming. Not because it takes a long time for the program to work it's magic, but simply because you can get so entranced by the ease it gives the creation of new patterns that you can completely lose track of time. With that being said, finish all of your homework, call your parents, catch up on your favorite HBO series, and then visit Repper's website, and lose yourself in creativity!
